If you eat chicken, at some point it’s a good idea to live with them. So drawing from observation has always been critical to my practice. Drawing the sinew and flesh of the figure, here a hare, binds humility with pictorial invention. The materiality of paint and the act of miss-seeing are also at play in this body of work.
